Promoting Mental Health and Wellness in the Workplace

Mental health isn’t just personal, it’s professional. The workplace plays a huge role in how we feel every day. This past May, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Actemium Avanceon reinforced its culture of caring by offering a series of health and wellness initiatives to support the mental and physical well-being of our people. These efforts weren’t about checking a box, they were about living out the values that define us. Guided by that commitment, the HR team helped bring resources and activities forward to demonstrate how Avanceon advocates for our employees and their mental health needs.

The Reality: Mental Health at Work

Increased efforts in this area were guided by eye-opening data from industry research. One report that stood out was MindShare Partners’ 2021 Mental Health at Work Report, which revealed that 76% of U.S. workers had experienced at least one symptom of a mental health condition, and 84% attributed at least one challenge to workplace conditions. These numbers are a reminder of just how deeply the work environment can affect someone’s mental health and well-being, and how important it is for organizations like us to take a proactive, compassionate role in supporting wellness initiatives that foster a healthy, supportive workplace for everyone.

Integrating Wellness into Everyday Culture

In the aftermath of COVID-19, the need for inclusive, accessible, and engaging wellness resources has only grown. With so much of our time devoted to our roles, Actemium Avanceon has recognized the importance of integrating wellness into the everyday, not as an add-on, but as a core part of company culture. The goal has become about helping employees take small, meaningful steps toward better health, both mentally and physically.

A Creative Approach: Wellness Bingo

One of the highlights of the HR team’s health initiatives that put this goal into practice was the Wellness Bingo Challenge. Each week, employees received bingo boards filled with simple, health-focused activities, like taking a tech-free lunch break, parking a little farther from the office, or jotting down a personal win for the day. To keep things fun, they offered entries into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. As the challenge went on, participation grew, and the team witnessed genuine excitement around the opportunity to focus on well-being in a way that felt manageable and enjoyable.

Looking Ahead

Actemium Avanceon remains committed to building on these efforts as part of our ongoing care for our employees and their well-being. Our vision is to build a year-round wellness program that includes future giveaways and contests, as well as more tips, reminders, and educational resources that are all designed to empower employees to prioritize their health without added stress. It is the ultimate belief of the organization that wellness should be simple, accessible, and woven into the fabric of everyday life.

Overall, these efforts reflect Actemium Avanceon’s belief that caring for employees strengthens the entire organization and creates a healthier, more supportive workplace that reduces tension, improves retention, and enhances productivity. The World Health Organization estimates that depression and anxiety cost the global economy an estimated 12 billion working days and $1 trillion annually in lost productivity. At Actemium Avanceon, we are not just working to avoid these statistics, we are rewriting the story. By investing in wellness, we are redefining what it means to care at work and striving to build a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
